Teachers U1 Lesson 3

Instructional approaches

As we have seen in our previous lesson, learning in an online environment is more collaborative, must be delivered in small chunks and relies very much on the active participation of each individual student, who is placed at the centre of the learning process. Because students learn in different ways or combine different modes of learning, teachers should design activities which address as many learning styles as possible by utilising multiple instructional approaches and techniques. These may derive from classroom-based practice, but can be effectively adapted to the online.
